Thoughtfully packed in standard, airport-friendly packaging, the kit focuses on portability and flavor: measured ingredients, easy instructions, and components sized for single-serving cocktails. It’s designed to deliver the familiar aroma of bitters and the right sugar profile to complement whiskey, bourbon, or your spirit of choice.
What comes in the kit and how do I use each item?
The kit includes small vials of aromatic bitters, pre-measured old fashioned sugar cubes, a stirrer, and concise mixing instructions. Each element is portioned to make one or two properly balanced servings without measuring tools.
- Bitters vial: adds citrus and spice complexity to the drink.
- Old fashioned cubes: pre-measured sugar for consistent sweetness.
- Stirrer: compact tool for dilution and chilling.
- Instruction card: step-by-step mixing and serving tips.
How does this kit perform when traveling or on a plane?
Packaging is sized to meet most airline carry-on limits and avoids large bottles, making it convenient for flights or weekend trips. The components are sealed to prevent spills, and the instructions require only a spirit and ice to finish the cocktail.
- Compact case fits into carry-on or daypack pockets.
- Leak-resistant vials reduce risk of mess.
- Single-serve portions eliminate measuring at the bar.
- Requires only spirit and ice — no extra tools needed.
Will this kit make a quality Old Fashioned comparable to a bar?
While it won’t replace a professional bartender’s technique, the kit supplies the essential flavor building blocks so you can achieve a balanced, bar-quality Old Fashioned at home or away. The measured bitters and sugar cubes help produce consistent results for a well-rounded cocktail.
- Measured ingredients ensure repeatable results.
- Bitters provide layered aroma and depth similar to cocktail bars.
- Instructions cover proper stirring and dilution for smoothness.
- Best with a quality whiskey or bourbon for optimal flavor.
How should I store the kit and how many drinks does it make?
Store the kit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight; unopened components are shelf-stable. The standard kit supplies enough bitters and sugar for several single Old Fashioned servings, depending on how liberally you dose the bitters.
- Keep sealed until use to preserve flavor.
- Room temperature storage is suitable for short-term keeping.
- Typical kit yield: multiple single-serve drinks (see package details).
- Once opened, consume bitters within a reasonable timeframe for best aroma.
Who is this for? The Cocktail Box Co. Old Fashioned Cocktail Kit is ideal for travelers who don’t want to compromise cocktail quality, gift-givers seeking a refined present for whiskey lovers, and anyone wanting a convenient way to make a classic Old Fashioned outside of a full home bar. It suits beginners who appreciate clear instructions as well as experienced drinkers who want a compact tasting kit for trips, events, or gifting occasions.
