Originating from the United States in California’s Sonoma County region, specifically within the cool Russian River Valley subregion, Passalacqua Chardonnay represents a small lot expression of single vineyard winemaking. Passalacqua Winery is a family owned estate led by Jason Passalacqua, whose family roots in Sonoma County winemaking stretch back over a century. The estate’s winemaking philosophy centers on sourcing fruit from exceptional site specific vineyards, relying on gentle hand harvesting, whole cluster pressing, and barrel lees stirring to highlight pure fruit elegance and regional character.
Wine Description
The wine displays a brilliant pale gold colour in the glass. An inviting, aromatic bouquet opens with notes of mandarin orange, lime zest, and white peach, underpinned by subtle hints of wet stone minerality, vanilla, and warm brioche. On the palate, it is medium bodied and silky, delivering a textured mouthfeel rich in citrus flavors, yellow apple, and toasted oak spice. Balanced by a streak of bright natural acidity and periodic barrel stirring that adds weight to the mid-palate, it concludes with a long, fresh finish.
