Château de Clotte is a historic estate located in the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation of southwestern France. Founded in 1782 by the Roy de Clotte family, the château is nestled on 22 hectares of clay and clay-limestone soils ideal for cultivating classic Bordeaux varietals. With a longstanding commitment to tradition and quality, the estate produces wines that reflect both the region’s heritage and its unique terroir.
Wine Description
The 2015 vintage is a refined Bordeaux blend predominantly composed of Cabernet Franc, supported by Merlot and Malbec. It pours a deep garnet in the glass, offering aromas of ripe plum, black cherry, and warm spice, layered with notes of cedar and vanilla. On the palate, it reveals a supple texture and well-integrated tannins, delivering flavours of dark berries, tobacco leaf, and subtle earthy undertones. Medium to full-bodied, the wine finishes with elegance and length, showcasing the richness and balance of the vintage.
Food Pairing
A versatile companion to food, this wine pairs beautifully with roasted beef, duck breast, mushroom risotto, and game meats such as venison. These pairings highlight the wine’s depth and structure. Together, they create an unforgettable dining experience.
